People from across Telford are coming together to support their neighbours and generously donating food and items that can be called upon by individuals and families in crisis and in desperate need. You can ask for help using our Crisis Network Support Line on 01952 459258.
Donated items include non-perishable food, baby food, pet food and toiletries as well as nappies and baby wipes.
A list of food and other items is available.
Our job at Telford Food Bank is to coordinate those fantastic collections, to help collect the food from you and then to distribute the food to those most in need.
We do this with the support of the wider Network. Individuals can be referred to receive a food parcel by a number of trusted partner organisations and the food parcels are then made available for collection at outreach points across the Borough the next day.
Of course, there are times when someone’s need for food just cannot wait and we aim to operate flexibly and to help wherever we can.
Our ability to help those in need relies upon an army of willing volunteers. People who have a heart to donate a little food, people who organise collections at their clubs, churches, mosques, temples or their place of work; people who step forward and are able to volunteer at the food bank, or answer telephone calls from those in need at the offices of the CAB. The entire effort and willingness to help is extraordinary! Together, we’re helping folks in real crisis, and those that you help are extremely grateful.
